Lisboa Racket Centre’s squash coach and player, is ranked as number 2 of the national ranking. Started playing squash in 2002 in Mangualde and his first circuit tournament was in 2007. After some years of extreme dedication to this sport, he was rewarded and  selected to be part of the national squash team in 2013, competing in the european championship in the Netherlands. For 5 consecutive years, he was on the top 5 . In 2017 , Rui reaches  the top ranking in Portugal.

Academically, he graduated in Physical Education and Sports Science, in 2005 was awarded in level 2 basketball coach, in 2007 with the level 1 degree squash coach and level 2 degree by the European Squash Federation in 2015.
